FutureCycle Press Seeks Coeditor and Partner

From Robert S. King, Editor-in-Chief

FutureCycle Press has grown over the past several years to the point that I now seek a co-editor and partner. The co-editor would have equal authority with me in all facets of press operation, including final selection of manuscripts, press promotions and activities, etc.

This prospective partner should be an experienced editor of a poetry magazine or press and should have demonstrated editorial skills to make decisions on the merits of poetry submissions. I hope to find someone who considers himself/herself to have eclectic tastes but high standards.

This position is not only an editorial partnership; it is also a business one (though that is almost an oxymoron for a poetry publisher). No upfront investment is required of the partner. Most of the press operations are funded by the annual book contest and sales of books and magazines. The partner should be willing, however, to help defray shortages, if any, such as sharing the expense of web hosting, if press revenues were to fall short for any given year.

Although FutureCycle Press is not an incorporated nonprofit enterprise, we operate as such. All revenues on sales and entry fees for our contest go directly into the press bank account and are used solely for press development and expenses. Thus, the partnership, compensationally speaking, is a volunteer effort. However, the ideal candidate will be someone who takes the position seriously and is willing to consistently devote time to it for the long term.

If you are interested in discussing this further, please send me an email telling me a little about yourself and why you are interested. You may also send your literary vita if you have one.

The start date for this position is negotiable. I look forward to hearing from you.

Robert
