Glenda Council Beall

 
 
BIO
 

Glenda Beall lives in Hayesville, North Carolina where she teaches and directs Writers Circle, a learning center for writers of all genres. Finishing Line Press published her chapbook, Now Might as Well Be Then in 2009. Her awards include a third place win in the James Still Poetry Contest and first place in Clay County Arts and Poetry contest. Beall's poetry has been published in Kakalak, North Carolina Poets 2009, Appalachian Heritage, Main Street Rag, The Journal of Kentucky Studies, the online journal Wild Goose Poetry Review as well as numerous other magazines and journals online and in print. She started the online site for NCWN West, www.netwestwriters.blogspot.com in 2007, and manages two active personal blogs,Writing Life Stories and Writers Circle.

On faculty at John C. Campbell Folk School, Beall teaches memoir classes for senior adults who want to write for their families. She also teaches for the Institute of Continuing Learning at Young Harris College. She is former Program Coordinator for the NCWN Network West. She hosts a monthly poetry reading in Hayesville.As marketing director forthe anthology, Echoes Across the Blue Ridge, stories, essays and poems by writers living in and inspired by the southern Appalachian Mountains, she works to promote writers and poets of western North Carolina. Besides the North Carolina Writers Network, she is a member of North Carolina Poetry Society, Georgia Poetry Society, Byron Herbert ReeceSociety and is listed in the Directory of Poets and Writers.
