The FutureCycle Poetry Book Prize
FutureCycle Press conducts a full-length poetry book competition open to any poet writing in the English language. We offer to the winning author a $1,000 prize, publication in both print and ebook formats, and 25 copies of the printed book. We sometimes also offer publishing contracts to the top finalists. The contest is open from January 1 to March 31 each year; entries received outside of this submission window will be considered a general submission to the press.
To enter the competition, you must pay a $25 entry fee for each book submitted. You will receive at no additional charge a poetry bundle from our press (the contest's winning book and another title of our choosing).
Manuscript Format
Manuscripts should be 48 to 70 pages in length, excluding front matter such as acknowledgments, title page, etc. The manuscript should contain a title page with your name, address, email address, and phone number.
Also include an acknowledgments page listing the names and titles of any poems in the collection that have been previously published.
Please do not double space the text of your poems, except between stanzas and after the title.
2009
Our 2009 winner is No Loneliness by Temple Cone. Beyond the Bones by Neil Carpathios, a finalist for the prize, was also selected for publication by our press.
2010
This contest is now closed. Submissions were accepted beginning January 1, 2010, with judging commencing at deadline for entry, March 31, 2010.
Our 2010 winner will be announced and the book published over the summer.
We encourage poets to read our online magazine and check out our publications for examples of the kinds of work we like.
